Great news for TGCTJF fans!!!

SAVE THE DAY!!!  Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel for a One-Day Jazz & Blues Extravaganza in conjunction with the Connecticut Blues Society.

The Great CT Traditional Jazz Festival is alive and well and making plans.  This year, due to both the depressed economy and our depressed "rainy day fund", it was decided to hold off our next big three-day Great CT Trad Jazz Festival until next year, 2012.  In lieu of the annual three-day event, however, we are planning a one day special 25th year celebration on the same weekend that our three-day festival would have been on for this year. . . the last Saturday in July . . . thus keeping our continuity alive.  We're expecting many of our past Directors, Volunteers and Supporters to be there for a Reunion of our 25th year.

Remember to BRING A FRIEND and SPREAD THE WORD.   From our survey, many of the Festival attendees came because a friend told them about it and invited them to come, so your support by coming and spreading the word to your friends is essential. You can't run a Festival with admission fees alone, however, so we've been working to get sponsors and supporters to help put on the Festival next year.  If you have any recommendations for grants or sponsors, we would appreciate your contact, input and support.

Meanwhile, there are a few Events planned - the "Extravaganza" at the 4 Points Sheraton on July 30, a concert in Massachusetts in October and possibly another one in CT.  These events will serve not only as fundraisers but also to introduce our kind of jazz to new audiences.  They will also serve as Kick Offs for the 2012 Great CT Traditional Jazz Festival.  We are depending on you, our fans, to help "get the word out".  So SAVE THE DATE --- SATURDAY, JULY 30.  We'll be at the 4 Points Sheraton, starting at 3 pm with traditional jazz followed by an Evening of Blues 'til 11pm! There will be two venues, the ballroom and a tent outdoors, nine hours of great music, excellent food, abundant seating, free parking, and you can stay overnight (call 203-238-2380 and ask for the "Jazz Rate").   Come and bring a friend or two.
